The Daily Chuckle

Harlan Collins follows in the footsteps of his illustrious journalist father, Tom Collins, who in 1948 created Today’s Chuckle, featured daily in newspapers nationwide. Harlan continues the tradition, contributing daily to this feature that’s nearing its 70th birthday. Collins’ book, “Today’s Chuckle: 2,500 Great One-Liners for Every Occasion,” collects some of the one-line observations that helped Today’s Chuckle become the most widely syndicated front-page feature in the world.

Collins is well known as a musician, composer and arranger. He has composed and arranged music for “Sesame Street,” “This is Spinal Tap,” “Highlander,” “One Tough Cop,” and other television shows and films. Collins, who was a musical guest during the first season of “Saturday Night Live,” has earned accolades and gold records for his musical contributions to artists such as Barbara Streisand and Olivia Newton-John, and he became one of the few artists signed to Beatles manager Brian Epstein’s cutting-edge label, Nemperor Records.

Collins has worked extensively in language localization and content creation for the entertainment business, serving as an executive for various companies, including The Movie Treasury, Shadowbox Interactive, Hot Hits, VoxWorks Technologies, SDI and others.

Collins attended New York University, majoring in film and drama. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
